Walking the Talk: The Best Subsea Project Award
At center3, we take immense pride in our continuous strides toward excellence and innovation. Last October, we had the honor of being recognized at the Global Carrier Awards during the Capacity Europe conference with the prestigious award for the Best Subsea Project. This accolade was awarded for our groundbreaking 2 Africa Pearls project, a testament to our dedication and expertise in the field.
The 2 Africa Pearls Submarine Cable System is a new and critical segment of the larger 2Africa cable system. This extension reaches the Gulf, Pakistan, and India, significantly enhancing connectivity in these regions. The project aims to bridge the digital divide by providing high-speed internet access to these areas. This ambitious endeavor involves laying thousands of kilometers of submarine cable to ensure robust and reliable internet connectivity across multiple continents.
Since the win, the project has made impressive strides in achieving its milestones. Here is an overview of the current progress:
- Design Completion: The 2Africa Pearls design has reached 100% completion, laying a strong technical foundation for the cable system.
- Local Landing Partnerships: Fully secured, ensuring seamless coordination and infrastructure collaboration.
- Marine Surveys: Conducted comprehensively and now 100% complete, guiding the installation process.
- Manufacturing: Cable manufacturing is 88% complete, with wet plants fully operational and ready to support installation.
- Landing Infrastructure: Development is in the advanced stages, creating a robust support network for the cable system.
- Permitting: The necessary permissions are in advanced stages, facilitating streamlined progress.
- Pipeline & Cable Crossings: Agreements are in the final stages, clearing the way for smooth installation.
- Marine Installation: Ships are currently transiting to commence cable deployment across strategic routes.
